Gerber Federal Credit Union
Privacy Notice

Gerber Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. You can be confident that your financial privacy is our top priority.  Your trust is essential to Gerber Federal Credit Union's success.

Your personal information

In the course of providing you with products and services, Gerber Federal Credit Union acquires information from you in person, during telephone interviews, on applications or other forms you complete, and from outside sources, including consumer reporting agencies.  We also maintain information about your transactions with us.

Maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information

We do not share any personal information about you or our former members with third parties except as permitted or required by law, and as necessary for business purposes.  For example, we may share information to comply with the U.S. tax laws and court orders, or with consumer reporting agencies.  We may also share information with companies that work for us in providing you products and services.  Such companies include check printers, savings insurance companies, and data processors.  These companies act on our behalf and are obligated to keep any information we share with them confidential.

We strive to meet the financial needs of all members.  Accordingly, Gerber Federal Credit Union may enter into agreements with other financial institutions to offer members high-quality financial products and services at reduced prices or to provide marketing services on our behalf.  For example, if you have a mortgage loan with Gerber Federal Credit Union, we may enter into an agreement for the purpose of offering you low-cost home mortgage protection life insurance coverage.  We may also enter into an agreement with a company that provides mail services to notify you of Gerber Federal Credit Union's products and services or other special promotions.

We may also disclose information we collect about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law.  These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, follow your instructions as you authorize, or protect the security of our financial records.

These agreements require that your information be kept confidential and used only for the purpose of offering you products, services, or promotions approved by Gerber Federal Credit Union.

Keeping your information secure

Gerber Federal Credit Union is committed to keeping your information secure.  We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing your data.  Our employees are trained regarding the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy.  We access your personal information only when necessary to service or maintain your accounts, and to meet your needs.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your personal information. For security reasons, we have replaced your social security number with XXX-XX-XXXX on your statement.  Member transaction receipts will only be provided for transactions conducted in person.

If you have any questions concerning the privacy of your personal information or if you need to correct information we have on file, please contact us at (231) 924-4880 or (800) 338-3746.
